If you're on Amber's wholesale electricity plan, VoltMate shows you live grid prices and highlights the cheapest windows to charge your Tesla — so you're always charging at the right time.
How it works
In Settings → Integrations, connect your Amber Electric account. VoltMate will start displaying live wholesale prices for your NMI (network metering identifier) and state.
Tell VoltMate the price at which you want to be notified — e.g. "alert me when the price drops below 10¢/kWh". VoltMate monitors continuously and sends a push notification when your threshold is met.
Plug in when notified, or use VoltMate's upcoming smart scheduling feature to automatically start charging at the cheapest window overnight.
What you get
Current wholesale price shown in the Amber section, updated in real time — not a static tariff estimate.
Set a threshold and get a push notification the moment prices drop below it — perfect for opportunistic charging.
Low prices often coincide with high solar generation in the grid. Charging at these times maximises your renewable energy use.
VoltMate shows your estimated monthly saving from smart charging vs charging at peak times — real dollar numbers based on your usage.
